Diversity of religion

Pakistan is the site for one of the world’s earliest human settlements, the great prehistoric Indus Valley Civilization, the crucible of ancient empires, religions and cultures. It is an especially important site for both Sikh and Buddhist tourists. At one point, Punjab was the center of the only Sikh empire in history. Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of Baba Guru Nanak is one of the holiest sites for Sikhs, with the potential to attract as many pilgrims as the Golden Temple in Amritsar.

Other than Nankana Sahab Pakistan also has the following ancient religious places:

  1. Takht-i-Bahi, Buddhist Tourism
  2. Katas Raj Temple
  3. Hinglaj Goddess at Hinglaj Mata Temple

Following steps the government of Pakistan has taken to increase the religious tourism in this country.

  1. Provided best and secure environment to the pilgrims or worshipers.
  2. Best chances to explore their religious history.
  3. Provided them easy access towards their holy journey
  4. To retain the actual structure and importance of the religion traces and monuments of the other religions.
